I will be creating an adaptation of a well-known psychological survey, Zimbardo’s Time Perspective Inventory (ZTPI), which measures whether a person is more oriented toward the past or the future in positive or negative ways. The goal is to turn it into a more responsive survey that is based on a person’s current time perspective, rather than trying to find a person’s constant, or average, time perspective. This would allow future research to be more encompassing of the many variables that account for time perspective and its emotional and motivation correlations. I will be testing my hypothesis that time perspective can be measured in this way, as well as trying to find correlates of the subjective time perspectives.
