My Distinction Project will seek to analyze and ascertain the impact of major modern historical events, during the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, on the characterization of certain comic book characters. The focus shall mainly be on DC and Marvel superhero main characters, but the conclusions drawn hopefully can be applied to most comic books developed in the same time periods. This analysis will allow a deeper understanding of the pop cultural impact of modern comics, and their historical background, and development basis.
